  YMCA ? Are we allowed to go there or not?

  half of our congregation goes there to work out because of the good pool facilities and prices, and the other half think that it's wrong due to it's old charter.

  but no one is enforcing the wrong or right of it.

  i'd be interested in knowing how this is being applied worldwide.

  hi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.

  as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.

  that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

Isn't it the same? Religious ignorance and fervor causing the death of others without any compunction? Have you seen this warped thinking in action? Its quite deadly and unreachable by reason or common sense. To me its the same, Islamic jihad and declining a blood transfusion to your child or spouse. Your thoughts?

  but as i move into my early 50's i find i'm more and more comfortable in my thick, leathery hide.. please get it into your thick skull's that i don't insult or make snarky comments with the intent of hurting anyone's feelings.

  that being said, if your precious feelings are hurt it's probably your fault for being a prissy, over sensitive drama queen who can't defend his argument.. i do actually love you all, it's just that most of the time you spineless pussies really get on my nerves!.

  apparently, it's good news, everybody - mohammed emwazi (aka jihadi john) has been targeted by a us drone strike.

  the location was in raqqa, syria, a few yards from isis hq, near a clock tower where crucifixions are carried out.

  there are conflicting reports, some say he died instantly at 11:40pm yesterday, others say that he was badly injured and taken to a nearby hospital.. from what i've previously read about emwazi, he was apparently terrified of being targeted by drones - yesterday it seems his nightmare was made reality.

  my jw friends that still speak to me, tell me that they love the meetings because of the things they learn.. i wonder what they think they're learning?

  it an avenue that always perplexes me because their replies are just so wishy washy or i get a blank stare when i ask.. what's you r experience?.

  I learned how many different ways the Bible referred to the "anointed" and 1919. When Abraham's camel farted it was a reference to the inspection in heaven and the "anointed" it seems. Turds.

Or maybe facts over time just don't sustain a doctrine, ie: numbers rising among partakers? Do they simply want to show they have the "FDS" mojo? Or does it come down to cash? (Split the corporations and appoint "helpers", basically fall guys in lawsuits?) What is your take?

  i was sitting at the recent circuit assembly that i attended, (the things i do for sis blues) and the baptism talk was under way .

  i admit that my mind was more on my imminent packed lunch and flask of coffee but i distinctly heard the speaker make the statement that heads this thread and cite a wt reference.. you what !

  i was shocked....... how can they possibly make such an arrogant statement ?

  Don't panic. I understood it to be that all sincere prayers are heard by God. BUT, until a person has a clean conscience only available by accepting Christ's sacrifice can they have unrestricted approach to God in the way of a "relationship". So its not that he doesn't hear prayers, its that the person feels free to approach and therefore he is clean before Jehovah by way of Christ's sacrifice. You're still talking to yourself basically either way. Save your breath and rent a movie on Netflix.
